Hello, my name is /ubggibka43y, and I am a YouTuber who has been Removal Requested by Google. I want to share what happened and how I coped with it.
When I received the removal request notification from Google. My heart sank as I knew this would not be an easy process. My first step was to contact YouTube directly and ask for more information about the removal request. YouTube informed me that the removal request was based on a video I uploaded in 2016 called “How to make a Bitcoin Wallet”. The video features me walking through creating a Bitcoin wallet on Coinbase. At the time of the video’s upload, it had only been viewed for 3 minutes and 7 seconds since it had been posted on July 5th, 2016.
Despite its low viewership, YouTube deemed the video violating their Community Guidelines, which state: “You may not promote or encourage violence or abuse towards others.” As a result, they issued me a removal request notification saying that they are removing my channel due to the “promotion or encouragement of violence or abuse” in my video.
After receiving the removal request notification from YouTube, I consulted with an attorney about my options. Attorney Mike Ellis spoke highly of YouTube’s policy regarding videos promoting or encouraging violence or abuse. He advised me that there was little that I could do to prevent YouTube.
Why was the account removed?
Hello, my YouTube account was recently removed without any warning or explanation. After doing some research, I found it was due to a video I uploaded containing footage of a live stream I was involved in. The video has since been removed, but the removal process is still happening.
I filed a support ticket and am still waiting to receive a response. My main concern at this point is that I lost all of my videos and comments from those videos.
